Since 2009, Sunshine Solar Group has consulted with many Ocala homeowners guiding them through the process of going solar. Most of these homes are in two gated communities on the West side of Ocala.
As of February 2020, we have worked with 57 homeowners and 2 commercial sites to help them "Go Solar" while consistently working toward our three goals:
1.) To help other Florida homeowners PUT THEIR ROOFS TO WORK and become more energy independent.
2.) Keep jobs here in the USA by using top quality US made solar equipment.
3.) Lower our country's dependence on foreign oil and burning of coal for production of electricity one home and one car at a time.
What started with 22 panels on the owner's home in On Top of the World has now led to 1,848 panels installed on 57 homes and 2 commercial sites. These installed systems are generating about 792,000 kWh of solar electricity for these clients each year. This electricity is valued at over $95,000 each year. The solar power produced by these 59 system avoids over 408 tons of coal needing to be mined and burned in a commercial power plant here in Florida. This is great for our environment while also lowering the USA's need for foreign oil.
As of 2020, 7 of these homeowners also own electric cars which are powered with solar power produced by their systems.
